A Focus on the Feminine Part 1: A Recap

Opening night of A Focus on the Feminine at the Newport Art Museum was attended by over 100 visitors—family and friends of artists, museum board members, appreciators of new, female-lead art and the like. We’d like to not only thank everyone who could be in attendance but also congratulate our Featured Artists and Collective Members and thank them for all the hard work and dedication that brought this show to fruition.

Spanned across three rooms and the entrance hallway of the Newport Art Museum, ZDS Creative’s A Focus on the Feminine remained in the NAM for five consecutive days and was accompanied by three model vintage cars, courtesy of the Audrain Automobile Museum. Newport’s annual Audrain Newport Concours and Motor Week brought a number of international and nationwide guests to Newport for the weekend, giving our exhibition the visibility we could’ve only dreamed of at the beginning of the Collective’s conception.

Two of our featured artists, Shelley Schorsch and Talia Smith, sold multiple pieces throughout the duration of the weekend. We have high hopes to continue sales for all our featured artists and Collective members and to make visible the work they’ve dedicated their time and talents to creating for this exhibition. Interested buyers expressed a deep appreciation for the emotion, dedication, and talent embedded in all exhibiting artists’ pieces, and were delighted to be able to mingle with Collective members at the show’s opening night. Thank you again to our first buyers for supporting these emerging artists in their endeavors, and for supporting our Collective in our first exhibition.

A Focus On The Feminine will be traveling to the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan, NY this December. View our events page for more information on our second opening night reception, gallery hours, and featured musical guests.
